One of the kindest and most loving things you can do for yourself is to gracefully transition into the New Year. What does that look like? I have a few helpful suggestions to assist you in adopting a holistic process that honors your self-care and self-love energies.
The goal is not to overwhelm yourself, but to take small beneficial steps with your maximum success in mind. You may use the details I have listed, but as always, please feel free to add/change as desired to what sits well with your heart. These are simply my suggestions and provided examples, please use them as helpful guidance to get you started.
How to end this year
Reflect on what transpired – get a sheet of paper and write a list for each of the items, there should be no limit to the size of your list.
This process should take a few days, give yourself the time you need to complete it. I find the best way is to start the list, put it away until the next day, then pick it up and complete. It is most impactful when you work on it for multiple days. You’ll be surprised what your refreshed mind will remember the next day! Answer the following:
- What did I accomplish in 2022
- What did I learn in 2022
- What did I release in 2022
Review your list and savor what your have accomplished, learned, and released this year. Do give yourself a lovely applause and pat on the back for all you’ve done. I bet you had forgotten some of the things you learned and released, some of the goals you accomplished. That is why this exercise is so important. We can tend to inflate our shortfalls and deflate our success. Smile and take in all the accolades you deserve.
